Keep in mind, Volatility is still very much with us!…
Indeed, The Bear Market is still very much with us, as well!
The global hyperinflation, the global supply chain dislocations, and of course… global drought, plus the “wars,” (take your pick: …Ukraine, Russia, China),…all of these negative factors are certainly not helpful for the bulls’ case!
Please note, Concerning our “VIX, SPY correlation-variance ” metric,
IF the VIX is trending DOWN. And the SPY is trending UP, for the most recent week of trading…then and only then will our VIX, SPY correlation-variance algo indicate a potential Risk-on (Bullish) trend… for the upcoming week…
This indication of a potential Bullish trend, however, only happens,…currently,…on an infrequent basis!...
A cautionary note to keep in mind…we are not yet seeing a confirmed bottom in the market!
That could be a LONG way off.
The operative word being LONG!
As Doug Casey said in a recent interview, we are in a chaotic period in global markets!…
Our Conclusion is as follows:…
Remember that our S and P 500 market forecast is for the upcoming trading week only!
This forecast does not in any way portend a long-term trend!...
So, that being said,
Our algo indicates that the Bears, at least for the week ahead, are firmly in control!
In my opinion - we are entering a global depression…not so much a recession…What do YOU think?...
We do not think we have seen the bottom,…We always like to see at least a 3 week period in which the market is in a bull trend… before we can determine a potential bottom for the market!…
Bull traps come and bull traps go—Right now it is a full-on “BEAR”!
Be careful in trading for the next one to two weeks – AND MORE!…
It’s a jungle out there!...
I am tracking the weekly price movement of QQQ during 2022:
So, Moving forward, QQQ was a hypothetical “Buy” on 01/03/2020 at $401.68.
In my opinion, this correction of QQQ remains in an indefinite period of profound weakness!
No sign of a definitive bottom is indicated from this point moving forward!
Each week, I indicate the profit or loss, based on this (pretend) entry point. Let’s see where it ends up at the end of 2022!
As of 09/16/2022, this hypothetical trade shows a loss of - $126.71 (QQQ was $275.51 at the close on 09/23/2022).

Russian mobilisation.
The pitfalls of taking hundreds of thousands of young, fit adults and forcing them into military service are many.
First, the soldiers will be reluctant and resentful. Many will desert, some will resist and even more will avoid any form of combat. This poor motivation will increase as winter approaches and as casualty figures rise. The more under equipped soldiers Russia sends to the front, the more will lie buried in Ukrainian soil.
Taking the working population away from their jobs will create a huge hole in the already failing Russian economy. People at home will lose their houses. Rest assured the money in the army will not be the same as working for a company. Russia is already reneging on payment for serving troops, Russians with qualifications are running for the border to escape conscription so there is going to be a problem finding officers who can lead and administer new military units.
Finally, Russia cannot clothe, arm, house or equip a new army. They are losing their war now! By the time any of these mobilisation measures are dealt with, the East Ukrainian border will be back in Zelensky's hands.
The purpose of Putin's rhetoric is to create doubt and fear. Not in Ukraine, - they don't doubt for a minute that they can win but in Europe where weak leadership and wishy-washy journalism plays into the hands of Putin's propaganda.
Ukraine can win this war. When they do, autocrats and tyrants will go back into their little boxes to think again. Not only in Russia but in many other nations, some who are closer to home than we like to think.
